Peru is located in Western South America, Peru shares its borders with many other countries like Ecuador, Colombia, Brazil, and Chile. Peru is the third largest country in South America behind Brazil and Argentina. In comparison, Peru’s land mass is a little smaller than Alaska. Peru has a western coastal plain called Costa, and Andes in the center called Sierra. In addition, Peru has an eastern lowland jungle of Amazon Basin called Selva. On top of that, Peru also has many famous lakes, its most known one being Lake Titicaca which Peru shares with Bolivia. However, a notable river to mention is the Amazon river. This river starts in the Andes mountains in Peru and ends in the Atlantic Ocean. Furthermore, the environment and climate is also important to Peru. Peru has a climate that differs depending on location. For example, Peru has hot humid conditions in the Amazonia climate. Between April and September, Lima becomes foggy for six months straight due to the special climate. Peru is not like other countries and is a good place to come to because of the historic and special background. All in all, Peru has many historic places to stop by and is a great country to visit or tour.
