The history behind the flag
Peru’s flag has three vertical stripes. The side stripes are red and the center one is white. The red shows the blood shed for the people who fought for Peru’s independence. The white shows peace and prosperity. Peru’s historic flag was invented in 1825 and modified in 1950. The shield on Peru’s flag was taken off but it used to be on the flag separated into three parts representing national pride and wealth.

Peru currently has one of the highest and largest economies in South America, even with the economy being high much of the population still lives in poverty. Peru’s GDP ($371,290,000,000) is ranked 51st out of all countries in the world. Its GDP per capita is 12,500$ and ranked 6th in all of South America. More than half of Peru’s GDP is produced by these services; 35% industry, including mining, & agriculture contributes about 7 percent. Peru’s distribution of labor force is 25.8% agriculture and 17.4% industry & 56.8% service. Overtime, Peru has become heavily reliant on exports from other countries such as copper, ores, (mineral) and gems. To sustain their economy Peru must become less dependent on these exports from these outside countries. However, because of Peru’s major imports (gas, oil and dairy products) the economy was kept in check from falling. At the end of the day the economy of Peru is rich and powerful.
